More than halfway through her first year as the Boxer's new president, President Dr. Leslie Hallick will be officially sworn in as the university's seventeenth president on Thursday, March 4.
The celebration ceremony will be held in the Pacific Athletic Center gymnasium from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. All members and friends of the Forest Grove and Pacific community are invited to attend.
Hallick, who succeeded former Pacific University president Dr. Phillip Creighton at the beginning of August, 2009, came to Pacific from the Oregon Health and Science Institute where she was both a faculty member and administrator.
Statements made by select students, faculty, staff, alumni, university friends and more will be made at the ceremony, as well as performances by Pacific's Symphonic Band, the Chamber Singers, and Na Haumana O Hawaii (the Hawaiian Club).
Upon her arrival at Pacific, Hallick told The Pacific Index: "I like to [talk] about things I really believe in, and education is the main one."
