Double-figure scoring from three Pacific players was not enough to offset a 52 percent shooting performance and a critical 10-0 run by the Pioneers to open the second half as the Boxers fell 81-67 in Northwest Conference women's basketball action at the Pacific Athletic Center.

The Boxers (5-8, 2-4 NWC) received 22 points from Rochelle Reeves-Howe (Sr., Gresham, Ore.), who hit on 8 of 19 from the field and had a Pacific season-high five three-pointers. Julianne Erbe (So., Canby, Ore.) poured in 19 to go along with eight rebounds and Kayla Akers (Sr. Richland, Wash.) added 13 points, nine off of three-pointers.

The performances could not stop the surprising Pioneers (12-3, 6-0 NWC), who kept pace with George Fox for the top spot in the conference by going 27 of 52 from the field and 21 of 28 from the free throw line. Kristina Williams led all scorers with 25 points. Margaret Dowling added 17 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Christina Herring scored 16 and Neva Hauser came off the bench for 11.

Lewis & Clark built a cushion early, going up 18-8 on a Hauser free throw at the 10:58 mark. Reeves-Howe replied with her first three-pointer of the night, sparking a 12-2 run that allowed the Boxers to tie the contest at 20-20 with 6:37 left. Pacific tied the game two more times in the final six minutes, but could never push ahead as the Pioneers went into the locker room with the 38-33 lead.

The Pioneers sunk the dagger in the opening stages of the second half, scoring 10 unanswered points over the first four minutes to open up a 48-33 advantage. Reeves-Howe ended the dry spell with her jumper at the 15:32 mark, but the Pioneers pushed ahead to take their largest lead of the contest at 61-40 on a Williams' three-pointer with 11:05 to go.

Erbe followed with a short jumper to jump-start a 14-4 run over the next four minutes and a trey by Akers brought Pacific with 11,points, 65-54, with 7:23 left. The Pioneers would not give up, though, eventually going back ahead by 18 points, 77-59, on a series of three Dowling free throws with 3:19 to go.

Pacific returns to action next weekend, hosting Puget Sound on Friday and Willamette on Saturday. Lewis & Clark returns home to host contests against George Fox on Friday and Puget Sound on Saturday.
