From the editor's desk: A media arts response to the Hallick "Listening Tour"

Fear. Fear of looking bad, saying the wrong thing or upsetting the status quo. We, as a university, need to stop clinging to what other schools are doing or to what we've always done in the past…if we're going to do either, we need to do it because we know it's what's best for us. Whether it's change or consistency, the only thing we should be clinging to is a continued desire to better ourselves…constantly asking what it will take.



4. "Finally, and especially if you find it difficult to respond from your context to the first three, can you suggest one thing that would make Pacific better?"



The University promotes itself as being especially personal and in-touch with students. Sure, there are many professors at this campus that are genuine enough, but if the job of the staff and administration is to serve the students (which it is), they need to make a better effort.

Students can sniff out fakeness like a pizza in the halls at midnight. No matter what line they're fed by the higher-ups, all students want is the assurance that they're genuinely being cared for. Sometimes they get it, sometimes they don't.
