Winter III travel courses mix culture and education

One of the trips offered is Natural History of Galapagos and Ecuador for BIO-145-01. This course if open to non-science majors or as an Upper-Level biology elective. This January 2010 trip is an exploration of one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world. On the Galapagos Islands students will get the chance to examine the Galapagos Islands where Naturalist Charles Darwin constructed his ideas on the origins of species. Students will also get the chance to learn about Ecuador and the culture there.
For theater lovers, there is a trip to London. THEA 270/370-01 is a pragmatic two-week observation of theater in London. Students will have the opportunity to attend and critique a number of professional plays. Students will also be able to meet with British theater professionals and visit theater facilities in London and Stratford-upon-Avon. This course will allow students who find an interest in the theater to further explore and build upon their passion for the theater.
There will be an ANTH-345-01/SOC-345-01 Culinary Travel class going to France. This course is designed to explore the fine cuisine France has to offer as well as to develop a further understanding of the French.
Other trips include a service-learning trip to Peru and a service-learning to work with Navajo in Arizona. However if students are unable to go on a winter trip, spring travel courses will also be available.
