The Pacific Men's Basketball team will once again welcome back post player Ross Bartlett this season. After tearing his ACL in the summer of 2007, Bartlett sat out the entire 2007-2008 season.

Because he sat out an entire year, Bartlett still has a year of eligibility left, much to the delight of his teammates and coaches.

"Ross will be a huge help," said Head Coach Jason Lowery. "He will help on the court immensely as a solid frontcourt veteran, he's been a Boxer since 2005 and knows what we as a program want."

Last season Bartlett started 18 games and finishing third in points per game at 13.1 and second in rebounds per game with 7.4. He shot 49.7 percent from the field and 72.5 percent from the free throw line. His absence was noticed, though, as the Boxers finished with a 9-16 overall record and was 3-13 in the Northwest Conference.

Bartlett would have ranked in the NWC top-10 in rebounding and top-15 in scoring, but the NWC requires athletes to play at least 75 percent of a conference season and Bartlett missed substantial time with a torn MCL in the same knee that cost him his junior season. It's obvious that Bartlett is a huge component of the team on both offense and defense, but his presence is felt off the court just as much as on it.

Perhaps one of the happiest people for Bartlett's return is younger brother Carson Bartlett. Both suffered knee injuries last season, with Carson having to miss the entire Northwest Conference season due to a torn ACL. But there is no doubt that another chance to play together excites them both.

"I never got the chance to compete with my brother on any team, I would think to play at such a high level with your brother has to be a special experience for Ross, Carson, and their entire family," said Lowery.
