Pacific University's search for a new president is coming to a close as the Presidential Search Committee has narrowed the search to three presidential candidates. As of Thursday, April 30, all three candidates have visited campus.
This week in history in 1995 Pacific was also in the middle of a presidential search. The top three presidential candidates were in the process of giving public presentations on campus.
Ironically, the article focuses mainly on the first candidate who was the only one of the three to have already delivered her presentation: Faith Gabelnick, who was later selected for the position.
The other two finalists included Jeff Baker, PhD., from Montana State University and a third candidate whose name had not yet been released.
Hopefully the candidate who is selected will be as influential to the university as President Faith Gabelnick was, who served from 1995-2003.
Pacific's new president is expected to be selected Tuesday, May 19.
