Unlike a representative, Croxford is an actual member who gets to vote on everything the BOT receives.
"It has a high deal of respect attached to it," said Croxford, referring to her position on the board. "My decision, or vote or opinion can impact the rest of campus many, many years after I'm gone, so it has a high degree of responsibility."
When asked how she thought her successor would do, she spoke without hesitation.
"I think he's gonna be great. He's very responsible, forward-thinking, articulate and confident. I think he understands what Pacific is, he gets the mission of what the University is doing, and he knows how to translate that real well [for] students.
"Personally, I think he's going to do a fabulous job."
If elected to the BOT, Gilpin will be expected to inform the board of student's needs and opinions, as well as be informed of every item discussed and voted on during their quarterly meetings.
"Kristen helped me a lot with calming my nerves, as to whether I'm really going to be treated like an equal on the Board or not," said Gilpin.
"I'm mostly [excited] about the opportunity to be really involved with issues on campus, and the University as a whole."
