I don't even know where to start with this letter. I guess you just needed to chime in with your oh-so-important opinion. I almost forgot there was such impressive wit and sarcasm in the world these days. Way to go Michael Russo!
First of all, I have to ask. Why the hate? Do you get your jollies slamming the newspaper staff? There's gotta be a more constructive way of raising the standards of the articles in the paper... I know! We can type a big, headache-inducing block of text without saying anything worthwhile! Wait, that's already been done: you beat the rest of us to it.
The fact is the staff is doing something worthwhile. They're reporting on things that are happening around here. Yeah things tend to become a little outdated. That's what we get for a paper that's printed every two weeks. So the stories aren't interesting enough? That's gotta be the problem! Hmmm? Did I guess it right? Do I get a prize? Here's an idea: write something! If "most of us are too busy playing Halo 3 to read articles about Halo 3," then join the staff and write what you think is important. Wait… Don't. We don't need any more repeats like your infamous Re: Is anyone reading this? Seriously.
Next point. So you'll "choose quality reporting nine times out of ten"? And this letter proves your argument? I don't know what you are expecting from a school newspaper, so if it's not up to your standards, put this down immediately and go pick up your New Yorker so you can live out your grammatical fantasies.
