Max Bonk (Jr., Kamuela, Hawaii) gave Pacific a strong start to the spring half of the 2009-10 schedule Saturday as the All-American led the Boxers to a 302-335 victory over Willamette in a men's golf dual match at the Quail Valley Golf Course. Bonk turned in a three-under-par 69 to win the event for the Boxers, finish seven strokes ahead of Willamette' Robbie Beard and Pacific's Ben Wright (Jr.

By comparison to the NBA or even the NCAA Division-I regular seasons, 32 games doesn't seem like a big deal. If you were to ask the men and women of Pacific basketball, however, they'd all probably tell you that they're glad the long grind is over. In a word, both seasons were a disappointment, punctuated by both teams going in opposite directions during the first and second halves.
