Art comes in many forms and from many sources. The Faculty and Staff Showcase in the Kathrin Cawein Art Gallery is currently displaying the broad horizon of talent across campus. A wide spectrum of art forms is being presented, from ceramics, metalworking, photography, painting, use of digital media and a few pieces utilizing mixed media.
The Freshman Major Fair, sponsored in part by the Career Development Center, was an aid to freshmen this year. Incoming freshmen who attended the event inspected potential major choices at the available booths. "I didn't know all the majors that were being offered," said Charles, who has yet to declare his major.
"Hey Mark, look what I got," My big brother said as he proudly produced from his pocket a bottle labeled Ruedrich's Red Seal Ale. My 12-year-old self greedily asked, "Is that beer?" My brother nodded reverently. I held the wonderful beer in my hands and could immediately tell that something was wrong.
Residence Housing Association will be putting on the 24-Hour Service Fair on Nov. 20 and 21, starting at 6 p.m. Friday and continuing until 6 p.m. on Saturday. The event is being coordinated by Events and Activities Coordinator of the Residence Housing Association, Erika Cabatingan.
If you ever needed proof that you can have too much of a good thing, look no further than "Saw VI," which follows Detective Hoffman as he tries to hide his identity as Jigsaw's replacement. Unfortunately, instead of adopting the rogue vigilantism of his predecessor, Hoffman turns out to be nothing more than another corrupt cop looking to get his jollies by killing (mostly) innocent people.
The Arts and Sciences Student Senate has rented two theaters in the Cornelius 9 Cinema to give Pacific students the opportunity to see the midnight premiere of "New Moon." Tickets are on sale now for the November 20 midnight premiere. Interested students may purchase a ticket for one dollar in the Pacific Information Center and must bring their Boxer Card to the premiere.
Students enrolled in Pacific's Jewelry/Casting classes have been working in preparation for the winter jewelry sale Dec. 1 in the University Center, just in time for holiday shopping. Pieces are hand-made with a variety of metals and numerous techniques.
My mind was blown. I in fact had to pick my melted face up from off the ground. In other words, the concert was good. On Saturday, Nov. 7 I attended a Video Games Live concert in Portland, an event that travels across the world to various cities presenting the most immersive video game music experience ever known to man.
