Pacific University and Forest Grove talking football at Lincoln Park

Return of Pacific football: check. New head coach hired: check. A home field for the Boxer to play on in 2010: TBA. Pacific Athletic Director, Ken Schumann, will meet with the Forest Grove Recreations Commission at their Sept. 16 meeting to begin negotiations for the Boxers to play at Lincoln Park Stadium.

The days of shuttling to Beaverton for practices and games are over for Pacific University's tennis teams. After a season without a home facility in Forest Grove, the Thomas Holce Tennis Courts are ready for action. The million-dollar complex, located on the corner of Cedar Street and University Avenue, features six lighted courts, three of which are covered.

Blame the athlete, not the sport

As a new college football season begins, we have yet another controversy involving players and on-the-field conduct. For the Oregon Ducks - a team competing in the high-pressure Pac-10 who have a first-year coach at the helm and the lofty expectations that come with being "Nike U" - running back LeGarrette Blount didn't help things one bit.

Bartlett back for one more year

The Pacific Men's Basketball team will once again welcome back post player Ross Bartlett this season. After tearing his ACL in the summer of 2007, Bartlett sat out the entire 2007-2008 season. Because he sat out an entire year, Bartlett still has a year of eligibility left, much to the delight of his teammates and coaches.

2009-10 Fall sports preview

Another year brings us another chance to preview Pacific's 2009 fall sports. With football on the horizon in 2010, men's and women's soccer and volleyball take center stage this season. Men's Soccer In 2009, the Pacific men's soccer look to improve on their fifth place finish at 10-6-4.
